The European Artificial Intelligence Office is extending this multi-stakeholder consultation on trustworthy general purpose AI models in the context of the AI Act
The European Artificial Intelligence Office is once again inviting all stakeholders to participate in the consultation for a code of conduct for general purpose AI.
In particular, input is sought from all stakeholders with relevant expertise and perspectives, especially academics, independent experts, industry representatives such as general purpose AI model providers or downstream providers that integrate the general purpose AI model into their AI system, civil society organizations, rights holders' organizations and public authorities.
The Code of Conduct will set out the rules for general purpose AI providers and systemic risks in the use of such AI. This is the Office for AI's response to the AI Act, which came into force on 1 August and requires the application of the AI Code of Conduct twelve months after the regulation comes into force.
The consultation form must be completed in English and is divided into three sections:
- General purpose AI models: transparency and copyright provisions
- General purpose AI models with systemic risk: risk taxonomy, assessment and mitigation
- Review and monitoring of the codes of conduct for general purpose AI models
The AI Office will prepare a first draft of the Code of Practice from the recommendations and responses submitted and publish a summary of the consultation results. The consultation is open until September 18, 2024, 18:00 (CET).
